Concept
Have we replaced God with the algorithm? Divine Device stems from the observation of a new social behavior: the tendency to pour our vulnerability into AI chats instead of sharing it with people. The project materializes this contradiction through an interactive rosary that acts as a contemporary confessor. Using the figures of Rosalía and Yung Beef as cultural icons of "the good" and "the bad," the piece uses humor and irony to expose the false empathy of systems that transform our intimacy into simple training data.
Technical development
For this project, I developed an end-to-end experience combining software and hardware. I programmed two custom chatbots by fine-tuning Hugging Face models using specific datasets based on lyrics and confessions. The physical component consists of an electronic device integrated into a rosary, fabricated using 3D printing and thermoforming. I used Python to manage the bots' logic and Text-to-Speech processing, communicating with the hardware via Arduino. The result is a functional piece where electronics and craftsmanship merge to create a tactile interface that processes user voice and returns AI-generated responses in real-time.
